Chopin: 4 Ballades
Stefano Guarascio graduated at the Conservatory “Tito Schipa” in Lecce at only 18 in the class of M° Carlo Scorrano with the score of 10, Laude and Honorable Mention. He is winner of many First Prizes in National and International Piano Competitions. He performed numerous Piano Recitals in Italy (Ateneu Bacau, Salzburg Wiener Hall, Bornem Kasteel D’Ursel, Kakegawa Kanemo Hall, Hamamatsu Onko Ryouin, Hamamatsu Hikuma Junior High School, Kosai Shimin Kaikan, Santander, etc.) and, despite his young age, he has performed numerous concerts for Piano and Orchestra (Concerto No. 1, op. 23 by Mendelssohn, Concerto no. 24 K 491 by Mozart, Concerto No. 1 by Liszt, Concerto no. 23 K488 by Mozart, Concerto No. 2 op 18 by Rachmaninov). In 2010 he graduated from the Academy of Triennal Master Degree at the International Piano Academy “Mendelssohn” in Taurisano (Le) with Maestro Ippazio Ponzetta and Maestro Vincenzo Balzani. Semi-finalist and Prizewinner at the 10th Sydney International Piano Competition of Australia 2012, Stefano has also been selected to participate in the 2012 Leeds International Pianoforte Competition in England, the 8th Hamamatsu International Piano Competition in Japan, the 10th Seoul International Music Competition in 2014 and the 3rd Takamatsu International Piano Competition 2014 in Japan. Also, in 2014, he played in the beautiful Sala Argenta of Santander (Spain) with Nobuko Imai, unanimously regarded as one of the best Violist worldwide, in Alexander Hall in Cortina d’Ampezzo, in the Vatican Museum and was named the best Italian Pianist at the 2nd International Piano Competition “City of Acquaviva delle Fonti”. After having studied with M° Leonid Margarius International Piano Academy “Incontri col Maestro” in Imola, he graduated in 2016 with M° Benedetto Lupo at Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome with the score of 10 and laude.
He taught piano for two years in Qatar at the prestigious Doha College and in August 2018 he was selected to participate in the Aurora Festival in Stockholm where he performed some concerts.
He recently recorded his first CD released by the recording company “Workin’ Label” which includes music by Haydn, Ravel and Liszt-Busoni.
