Dear friends, LE SALON DE LA MUSIQUE was born to support talented young artists. In fact, today, more than ever, in this difficult moment all our and your support is needed! Because of COVID-19 many MUSICIANS CAN NOT work in concert halls and THEREFORE an important and in most cases THE ONLY SOURCE OF INCOME IS TAKEN away from them.
If EACH OF US makes a SMALL CONTRIBUTION, we can easily reach our goal! EVERY SUNDAY we will present some of our very TALENTED ARTISTS who will PLAY for you FROM THEIR HOUSES to share their love for music with you.

Rchmaninov. Four preludes from op.32
Pavel Shatskiy belongs to the celebrated generation of young Russian musicians. “The Moscow piano school as before holds the foremost position. We can’t help admiring a brilliant example of highest skill set for us…” This lavish praise could be found in “Süddeutsche Zeitung” after a recital played by Pavel in Munich.
Pavel graduated with distinction from the Moscow Conservatory in 2007 studying under professor Yu.Slesarev. Took mastercourses with V.Merzhanov, L.Naumov, D.Yoffe, O.Yablonskaya, D.Pollac, I.Scheppes, A.Bonduransky, V.Zverev, P.Gililov, V.Zverev. L.Moralez and other famous musicians.
Noted with several music awards including IV M.A.Balakirev International Piano Competition in Krasnodar (Russia) – II prize, “Scriabin – Rachmaninov” International Piano Competition in Sophia (Bulgaria) – I prize, II “Perpetuum Mobile” International Music Competition (Hilversum, The Netherlands) – I prize, I Abu Dhabi International Piano Competition – Grand-Prix. His debut CD presenting masterpieces of Russian piano music: works by Taneev, Rachmaninov and Scriabin won the highest award at X International WCH Competition (NY, USA).
Pavel’s repertoire is quite wide. A strong ability to build up a logically-based conception is brightly shown in his interpretations of J.S.Bach and Viennese classic. And emotional spontaneity helps him to convey the essence of Romanticism, performing pieces by F.Schubert, R.Schumann, F.Chopin. He also pays homage to contemporary composers (A.Schnittke, Dj.Ligeti, L.Berio, J.Soler and others).
Pavel represents Russian music in its enormous stylistic diversity: from miniatures by J.Field, A.Griboedov and M.Glinka to large-scale pieces by M.Balakirev, P.Tchaikovsky, S.Rachmaninov, works by A.Scriabin and the early XX-century composers (S.Feinberg, G.Popov, S.Prokofiev) and contemporary pieces. It was a Russian premier, when Pavel performed “Five Aphorisms” by A.Schnittke in 1999.
Pavel is also very active at the field of performing chamber music. He often shares chamber performances with O.Ivusheikova, E.Kornishina, Z.Vyazovskaya, I.Stachinskaya (flute), A.Mikhailovsky, O.Tomilova (clarinet), G.Hunt (oboe), S.Katenin and M.Kuuskman (bassoon), O.Filatova, Xiaoxi Wu (piano), laureates of the Tchaikovsky International Competition A.Victorova (mezzo-soprano), A.Bakastova (soprano), D.Onishenko (piano) and other outstanding musicians.
Pavel was invited as a jury members to several competitions including The A.Scriabin Scholarship (Moscow) and The Frederic Chopin Youth Piano Competition (Hangzhou, China). He also participates in many conferences and symposia on interpretation, music theory, textual criticism and other problems of musicology. His debut musicological researches were focused on the correlations and contradictions between musicology and performance. These problems were mainly discussed in Pavel’s PH.D. A book on Beethoven’s piano variations was issued at “Muzyka” publishers.
Being a devoted Scriabin performer Pavel joined the staff of the A. N. Scriabin Memorial Museum, as well as the editorial board preparing the complete collected works by the composer.
